Nov. Monthly GvG Tourney Pred. Thread
To avoid confusion with the Oct. Thread.
1) sup
2) rawr
3) WWF
4) mad
5) StS
6) dp
7) As
8) gg
Im confident the first four will place in the top four and the lower four to fill out the rest of the top 8. In which order I am not too sure. Of course i have no idea if any of these guilds will not show or forfiet or if NOW or some other guild qualifies last min. >.<
5 for sup, 1 for StS, 3 for dp = 9 pts... considering the outcome not bad ^^.

It is going to be my first time predicting the November Monthly Championship winners for the Xunlai Tournament House. Is it bad to completely base my predictions solely on Qualifier Points?

I'm pretty sure it'll go something like this:
1. Stealing Society [StS]
2. Rebel Rising [rawr]
3. Whats Going On [sup]
4. Pandas for World Domination [WWF]
5. Straight Outta Kamadan [KMD]
6. David's Minions [DM]
7. We Want Cookies [NOW]
8. Coloring Book [mad]
I seriously doubt [mad] will place above [StS].
The top three in my opinion could go either way.

Yes, because then you'd be placing [mad] for gold :/ late night ATs are cool.

Is Coloring Book bad? They're Rank 24 and have a good Wins/Losses ratio. (Sorry, I don't observe GvG's so I don't know who does good and who does bad, I just have numbers to go by lol.)

They aren't bad, but there are teams that consistely play better ([StS], [sup], [KMD]).

We suck pretty badly atm.
1 Rawr/Trim - unless they play vs NOW, sup or StS on Euro servers I don't really see them lose to anyone.
2 NOW - Best spike guild in the game, and that's gonna be what this monthly will be all about.
3 StS - Good at defensive play and pretty good at spiking
4 sup - Good at tombs builds
5 WWF - Pretty much the most active guild atm, will probably lose to another euro guild that spikes better than them.
6 KMD - Will lose to rawr in the 1/4finals as per usual.
7 StP - Will lose to some guild that runs a gimmick spike.
8 dP - Will lose to some dishonorable faggots that dare to split them.
Other comments:
This monthly will be Rendtastic.

lol no need to be bitter, Mitch
My predictions
KMD: Been my pick for gold for the past 4 months, they're kinda overdue. Gold or Top4
sup: Surprisingly solid despite the roster mixup, still could use some synergy building. Can run just about anything with good competence. Top4
NOW: Scary builds, but unless they come up with yet another meta-shifting build I feel they're going to get buildwars'ed by their opponents. Top8
WWF: Really strong but at the same time for some reason doesn't feel quite complete yet. Almost feels like Shaq Rau and Spank carry. Top4
rawr: I figure we're going to lose to A/D(A/P?) spike or SB/RI or MeE spike early on. If we use Rend a lot, though, we might get Gold orTop8
StS: I see StS pulling a crazy build in single-elims and getting counterbuilded early, for some reason. Still a very expereienced guild. Gold or Top4
BdV: Very solid gameplay, they'll adapt well to the R/Me/E spike. Dark-Horse for this month. Gold or Top8
StP: Great playing from these guys, but they need to be willing to buildwars to threaten the Top4
dP: Good silver pick, but could use a bit of work on defense in this metagame. Top16
vE: Have been practicing a lot, but some of those builds look... questionable for mAT play. Possible Top16
DirT?: Not sure if they're playing, but they seem alright Top16?
mkay?: Not sure if they're playing or what the name of the guild is.
mad: Solid play, though they're been slipping a bit lately. With a full core they should be a strong contender for Top8
DM: Disappointing last month, unsure of their commitment for this month. A "Maybe" silver, placing them a lil higher than this next group. Top16
pd/pH/Why/rD/Wipe: probably have to fight for the few silver spots remaining after the euros and rawr take them. 32-Top16
aS/tE/Wins/LaX/bOmb/AA: Assuming all of them are playing and will get their QP's in time, they'll probably be competing with the previous group for the last few silver slots. 32-Top16

What a coincidence, it's going to be my first time putting in November predictions as well >_>
Anyway, basing your picks entirely on QP's is not a good idea at all. You can refer to insight in this thread or people you know that know the teams fairly well to make more accurate predictions.

Dont mind my ignorance, but when ppl post things like [rawr] (I know it's Rebel Rising) most of the times I don't know which guild has which tag :S So could someone please clarify some of the ones previously listed? ^^

The easiest way to figure them out, if you're not sure who's who, is to read these threads with the guild ladder (http://www.guildwars.com/competitive/ladder/default.php) open in another window. You can search by tag at the bottom, so you're not left going WHO R U?! at every tag

Dunno about anyone else, but I've been observing Did They Hurt The Little Girl [yeah] and they've been doing amazing.
I'd definitely suggest placing them on the top 8, although I don't think they'll be able to breach the top 5.

Asp has pretty much nailed it again.
Anyone who doesn't know enough about gvg to decide for themselves should take his advice and construct your predictions based upon that.
p.s whoever put [mad] in top 4 is loltastic.
